This study was carried out to investigate the relationship between social support, social network and health behaviors related with hypertension as surveyed by cross-sectional study in 744 rural peoples aged above 30 of a community dwelling sample of one county for 6 days of July in 2000. Objectives of this study was to establish an effective hypertension management behaviors and health promotion. The sample was accrued by face to face interview of direct visiting from clustered sampling method. Interview was conducted by trained medical students with the questionnaire consisted of sociodemographic data, hypertension management health behavior, social support and social network based on previous literature. The summarized results were as follows: The social support and social network was consistent associated with the knowledge of hypertension, hypertension management health behaviors in spite of small variable result partly. Hypertension prevalence and some indicator of hypertension management were not find the relationship with social support and network. Further study will be recommended to re-confirm this relationship.
